How old were you when you decided to pursue your current career path and what inspired you?
I always had a fascination for computers and how they worked. They seemed like magical devices, and I couldn't help but wonder how they could do so much. Finishing high school (18 years old at that time), I wasn't sure about my career path. I thought about becoming a mechanical engineer, a pilot, or even a doctor, but life had a different plan for me, and I eventually found myself drawn to the field of Information Technology (IT).
In the beginning, I didn't have any mentors to guide me. However, I surrounded myself with like-minded individuals who shared my ambition and drive, and that support was invaluable.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the fear of failure. But as I moved forward, I realized that failure is just a part of the learning process. It taught me valuable lessons and helped me grow stronger.
My family and humble background provided the motivation to succeed. I wanted to make them proud and break free from the limitations of my upbringing.
What advice or key learning points from your journey would you like people to take on theirs?
Through my experiences, I learned that taking responsibility for our own future is vital. While support is essential, we must also believe in ourselves and work hard towards our goals.
To the young minds in rural areas and townships, I encourage you to explore the world of opportunities available to you. Whether through the internet or seeking help from those around you, don't be afraid to ask questions and pursue your dreams, you have nothing to lose. Let curiosity be your guide, and embrace every step of your journey. Remember, with determination and a positive mindset, you can achieve extraordinary things in life.
